Key Responsibilities

Network Design and Implementation

• Develop and deploy scalable network architectures tailored to organizational needs.
• Configure and manage Cisco ASR 1000/9000 series routers, ensuring optimal performance.
• Implement dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and ISIS for efficient data flow.​

Infrastructure Management

• Oversee the configuration of Ethernet, Gigabit, and 10-Gigabit interfaces.
• Manage VLAN trunking, IP addressing, and routing within complex topologies.
• Design and implement redundancy solutions to ensure high availability.​

Documentation and Planning

• Prepare comprehensive High-Level and Low-Level Designs, test plans, and deployment documentation.
• Conduct capacity assessments and develop strategies for scalability.
• Develop vendor selection proposals aligned with project goals.​

Security and Compliance

• Design and implement robust security layers within the network infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational protocols.
• Perform Level-2 and Level-3 troubleshooting, addressing complex network issues promptly.​

Collaboration and Leadership

• Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to ensure stable and efficient infrastructure operations.
• Initiate and organize capacity-building trainings for staff and institutional actors.
• Lead network deployment and validation processes, including staging of equipment.​

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing or coordinating network engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of the socio-cultural and institutional context of network infrastructure in Pakistan.
• Demonstrated experience in capacity-building, community mobilization, and rights-based approaches.
• Familiarity with national and international network guidelines and referral systems.​

Preferred Skills

• Independent Data Center Network Design, Implementations, and Commissioning.
• Advanced Cisco ASR Router Configuration.
• Interface Configuration: Configuring Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and 10-Gigabit interfaces on ASR routers.
• High-Availability Configuration: Setting up Redundant Power Systems (RPS), HSRP, and VRRP for router redundancy.
• Quality of Service (QoS): Configuring QoS policies to manage bandwidth and prioritize traffic.
• High Availability and Redundancy in Carrier Networks: Configuring VSS for higher availability and redundancy.
• Ability to prepare and maintain change log management offline and online.
• Evaluate Network design; provide substantial deliverables optimizing the network performance-wise and economically.
• Act as a tier III Network specialist in interfacing different systems and resolving issues at level 03.​
